Not continuing the content from the last movie in 2009, Halloween 2018 will continue the story from the first part 40 years ago.
The recent 2 minutes and 16 seconds trailer shows the process of “deploying the army” of Laurie Strode (played by Jamie Lee Curtis) to “welcome” Michael Myers back. Michael Myers was imprisoned 40 years ago. It seemed that peace was forever, but one day a prisoner car, including Michael, had an accident on the road and the dangerous criminal once again escaped. Michael Myers once again appeared and spread the seeds of fear in Haddonfield to pursue Laurie Strode.
Opening the trailer is a series of images revealing Laurie Strode’s serious and fierce preparation for this battle with the mortal enemy. The whole process is shown in full and in detail from carefully studying Michael Myers’ whereabouts, installing security camera systems, electric fences to using a series of mannequins to practice shooting, make an extra bunker full of essential necessities as well as equipment to protect yourself and maintain life.
John Carpenter will no longer be directing, but will serve as executive producer alongside Jason Blum. The film will be directed by David Gordon Green based on a script he co-wrote with actor Danny McBride.
A special highlight in this Halloween movie is the return of Hollywood superstar Jamie Lee Curtis. After exactly 40 years, she is now returning to her iconic role as Laurie Strode. The 59-year-old actress once shared that: “She ran for her life. But now it’s different, she has focused on preparing. She’ll be the one behind when that moment comes, because she’s the one who’s ready.”
In this movie, Jamie Lee Curtis’ Laurie Strode has been working hard to train her shooting and self-defense skills to prepare for a big day with the killer of those she loves most, including the ones she loves most. both daughter Karen (Judy Greer) and granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak).
